  Thursday night should be fun. Sunset is around 8:30pm but like Cyd pointed out we are in a densely wooded valley and should be able to start movies at 8pm or sooner.

    Kevin’s fire notice = No Fires is in the, wait for it, the “Possible (Definite) Fire ban in effect” thread. So no Wicker Man reenactment this year.

  I’m late to a couple parties/threads, here (one of them started by me), but real quick:
  1) I like pie almost as much as Special Agent Dale Cooper
  2) The fire ban thing, for those of you who didn’t see the other thread or see Shawn’s post above, is that we ain’t allowed no fires this year. I put “possible ban” in the thread title, but it’s looking more and more definite. The ban also prohibits smoking unless it’s in vehicles or buildings, or buildings that move like vehicles – such as Baba Yaga’s hut, or the building those accountants sailed in “The Meaning of Life” . Campstoves and gas bbqs are still okay. No idea if this affects generator usage or not – we will of course plead ignorance if it does, or else eat whatever ranger tries to stop said usage, for one of our communal meals.
  Sorry to be Kevvy Caca-on-the-Campout, but still looking forward to it 😀

  Alrighty. I just received a prerecorded message from the State of Oregon as part of our reservation. As to fires, no open fires, tiki torches, fire pits. Gas cooking and lights are okay. There was no mention of smoking. (They do encourage smoking mariuana but no bongs taller than 4 feet.) 🙂
  
  So no Tiki torches. I guess the naked Tiki torch dance party is off. Oh well.

  Oy! Sweet Home 10 day forcast predicts fairly tame weather but note, 50% chance of showers Friday. So bring your rain fly. Again, there are plenty of trees, so with the “showers” we’ve had so far this summer, the rain may only reach the ground in a few spots, but better safe than wet all night.

  The common area for our outdoor theater is occupying the first camp site past the toilet on the right as you pull in. If you arrive before I do on Thursday, do not set up your stuff there. Also, for proximity to the common area, and convenience of backing in trailers and generator hookup, the 2 camp sites directly across from the common area are reserved for me and Sean’s trailers.
  
  The front gate code is 4208. We will be closing and locking the gate each time we come and go. I’ve been told closing the gate will keep the local inbreds and Bigfoots out. We’ll see.

  After leaving Sweet Home look for the Fernview Campground sign on the right just past mile marker 51. Turn right at the sign, cross a bridge and take the next left up a hill. You will see a gate into the campground.
